IMPORTANT
These Guidance Notes are comprehensive and cover a wide variety of CHP Schemes. Not all Guidance Notes are applicable to every CHP Scheme.
- Read guidance set out in GN2 before completing Form F2
- Read guidance set out in GN4 before completing Form F4
- Refer to GN31 and Guidance Notes for Forms F2 and F4 (short) for simplified arrangements for CHP Schemes <2MWe
- Appendices 1 and 2 show how the Forms can be completed for small scale and large scale CHP Schemes
- Registration and Certification under CHPQA is available to CHP Schemes in the whole of the United Kingdom (UK) of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or owned by companies registered here. In addition, overseas CHP schemes that wish to export electricity from Good Quality CHP into the UK may also apply.
- The Guidance Notes should be read in conjunction with the CHPQA Standard (also downloadable from this website), which sets out definitions, criteria and methodologies for the operation of CHPQA. The Guidance Notes provide detailed information on how the Standard will be interpreted by Government Departments and Agencies as well as guidance on compliance with the Standard. A number of worked examples are also included.
- The purpose of the Guidance Notes is to help and guide applicants in completing the required forms and in carrying out Self-assessment of their CHP Schemes. They may be updated from time to time and the latest version of each Note and Form will be held on this website.
- Whilst this document includes issues relating to the use of CHPQA for determining eligibility for fiscal benefits, where further clarification is required, reference should be made to the appropriate Government Department.
